Sur Mural is one of the artistic landmarks in South Al Sharqiyah Governorate

Sur, November 3 (ONA) — The “Sawari Mural” landmark in the Walk area of ​​Jebel Al Eid Park in the Wilayat of Sur in the South Al Sharqiyah Governorate is one of the artistic, cultural and tourist landmarks that embodies the art of architecture, maritime heritage, traditional arts, handicrafts, engravings, decorations, writings and Sur fashions that characterize the Wilayat of Sur.

Saeed bin Ali Al Alawi, one of the artists participating in the Al Sawari murals, explained that this artistic landmark is the result of sustainable work that makes culture a way of life, and contributes to achieving the requirements of society and the city. It tells the story of the city of Sur with its civilization, culture, and ancient maritime history, which coincides with Sur being the Arab Tourism Capital 2024.

He added that the Al Sawari mural was participated in by 17 artists from the elite Omani plastic artists from various governorates of the Sultanate of Oman on a mural space designated for artistic creativity with an area of ​​133 square meters, using special colors and dyes to produce an integrated and harmonious artwork in a wonderful cultural and civilized style, and to work on beautifying the state in particular and the governorate in general, adding that the mural reflects the cultural and civilized landmarks of the city in addition to discovering, supporting and refining artistic talents in the field of drawing and providing the artistic arena with many talents in the field of mural painting, as well as enabling artists with artistic tools to produce a distinguished artwork and make the pictures a tourist attraction for tourists and visitors to the city.

He stated that these works are an opportunity to develop skills and creative abilities by drawing in large spaces, and these various artistic works contribute to enhancing the tourism status of the Wilayat of Sur, especially after it was chosen as the Arab Tourism Capital 2024.

It is worth noting that these artistic drawings were implemented and supported by the Omani Arts Society in South Al Sharqiyah Governorate, as part of the activities of the 27th Literary and Artistic Forum held last October.
