The Sharqiyah Desalination Company launched three initiatives to serve the community under the patronage of His Excellency Talib Al Balushi, Member of the Shura Council, Murshid Abdullah Salem Al Fanah, CEO of the Sharqiyah Desalination Company, and Dr. Saleh Hamad Al Alawi, Director of Social Responsibility at the company. The initiatives were as follows: an initiative to support 100 families with limited income, an initiative to provide Iftar meals for 200 people daily, and an initiative to support orphans during Eid.

The CEO of Murshid Al-Fanna Company stated: As is customary at this time of year, and before the advent of the holy month of Ramadan, the Sharqiyah Province Desalination Company launches its annual initiatives within the social responsibility program.

This year’s initiatives include: the Iftar Saem (Fasting breakfast) initiative for 200 people every day throughout the holy month, which is the ninth in a row, the food basket initiative targeting 100 families, in addition to the initiative to support orphans on the occasion of Eid Al-Fitr to meet their needs during the holiday.

Through these three initiatives, the company confirms its constant keenness to achieve sustainable community development and expand the scope of coverage of beneficiary groups, reflecting its great commitment to supporting the community during the holy month.

Dr. Saleh Al-Alawi said: We believe that social responsibility is the commitment that individuals or institutions have towards society.

This commitment includes working to improve social, economic and environmental conditions, and ensuring that the activities they undertake are beneficial to society as a whole.

This social cohesion is evident in the holy month of Ramadan, as there is solidarity between the various institutions of society, through providing aid and assistance to needy families, which contributes to reducing the suffering experienced by some families in providing the basic needs for the month of Ramadan. The cohesion is evident in these situations that make them feel comfortable with the presence of companies that sense their suffering and stand by them throughout the holy month.
