Wadi Maybam Village: Treasures of Stunning Nature
The village of Maybam, in the nyabah of Tiwi in the Wilaya of Sur in the South Al Sharqiyah Governorate, is regarded as one of the most important tourist places in the wilaya, with its enchanting nature and the flow of its waters throughout the seasons of the year. It is one of the villages located along the course of Wadi Tiwi, and tourist groups of citizens and other communities flock to it to enjoy the beauty of its scenery and the purity of its air.
The village of Maybam is about 11 kilometres from the centre of the nyabah by the main public road, and to reach it one uses the Wadi Tiwi road. The visitor to it must use a four-wheel-drive vehicle and take care while driving, as the road is narrow and barely wide enough for one car.
On your way to the village of Maybam, all along the road you enjoy the beautiful, enchanting scenery, and upon reaching it you are taken by amazement at the beauty of this village and its splendour, and the wonderful arrangement of its quarters and farms, which take the form of terraces until the visitor reaches the floor of the wadi. The visitor is astonished by the lush, magnificent nature he sees during his tour, and the wadis in Maybam form an artwork distinguished by the diversity of its formations and its slopes descending from the heights of the mountains.
The village of Maybam is one of the most beautiful and dazzling areas; it is about 9 km from the start of the Wadi Tiwi bridge, and reaching it takes about 30 minutes using a four-wheel-drive car, starting along a track between the two banks of Wadi Tiwi, ascending by a mountain road that passes a number of scattered villages and farms on its two sides.
Maybam, the serene village in the embrace of the mountains, rises about 260 metres above sea level, appearing from on high as a lush oasis overflowing with beauty and charm, from which water flows through the waterfalls cascading from the top of the village to its lush farms planted with palms, citrus and various crops.
