About Sur
Sur is the capital of Ash Sharqiyah South Governorate, on Oman's northeast coast. Famous for its dhow-building yards, twin forts, and the calm waters of its lagoons, the city has been a maritime hub between Arabia, East Africa, and India for over a thousand years. Today it pairs heritage with quiet beaches and turtle nesting grounds at Ras Al Jinz.
