The Department of Continuing Education and Community Service at the University of Technology and Applied Sciences in Sur launched its programs and training courses that serve the local community for the current academic year 2024/2025, with a workshop held last week at the branch of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry in South Al Sharqiyah Governorate, entitled: “Artificial Intelligence”, which aimed to review the role of artificial intelligence in developing small and medium enterprises for business owners in the governorate.

The workshop was presented by Mohammed bin Salem Al Fanah Al Arimi, Senior Computer Specialist at the Center for Information Systems and Educational Technologies at the University of Technology and Applied Sciences in Sur. The workshop included a set of applications and software that contribute to enhancing marketing and promoting entrepreneurs’ products using artificial intelligence technologies.

The workshop covered several main topics, such as the concept and importance of artificial intelligence, the benefits and risks associated with it, the future of artificial intelligence, and the expected future jobs in this field. It also reviewed the programs and applications that can benefit project owners and entrepreneurs.

Mohammed Al Arimi pointed out that the workshop focused on applications that serve entrepreneurs, including artificial intelligence tools used on the Instagram platform, such as Auto Reply, which contribute to developing marketing plans and programs specifically tailored to target groups, saving time and effort.

It is noteworthy that the number of participants in the workshop amounted to about 40 male and female business owners in the South Al Sharqiyah Governorate.
