Mahfoudh bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Farsi
One of the pioneers of the modern Omani folk (Nabati) poetry scene.
Born in 1967 in the Omani city of Sur, which lies to the south-east of the capital Muscat.
- Took part in many festivals, forums, evenings and poetry programmes inside and outside the Sultanate.
- Won many awards in numerous festivals and competitions inside and outside the Sultanate.
- Took part in 1992 in the folk-heritage symposium held by the Literary Forum.
- Took part in 1993 in judging the joint poetry competition between Sultan Qaboos University and the UAE University.
- Took part in 1997 as an administrative member in the first founding of the Omani Folk Poetry Council.
- Took part in 1998 in judging the joint poetry competition between Sultan Qaboos University and the UAE University.
- Took part in 1998 in the jury of the First Omani Poetry Festival.
- Took part in 1998 in the jury of the Literary Forum.
- Took part in 2000 in judging the joint poetry competition between Sultan Qaboos University and the UAE University.
- Took part in 2003 in the jury of the Literary Forum.
- Took part in 2004 in the jury of the Literary Forum.

- Took part in 2006 in the jury of the Fifth Omani Poetry Festival.

- Took part in 2012 in the jury of the Eighth Omani Poetry Festival.
- Took part in 2016 in the selection and evaluation committee of the Tenth Omani Poetry Festival.
- Reviewed some poetry publications printed at the expense of the Ministry of Heritage and Culture for a number of Omani poets.
- Honoured at the seventh Omani Poetry Festival for a contribution spanning more than 27 years, in addition to being among the foremost innovators in writing the modern Omani Nabati poem.
- Critical readings have been written about his poems published in the weekly cultural supplements in Oman, as well as his poetry publications, covering his writing and creative experience of more than 27 years.
- He undertook an important artistic collaboration with the great artist Abadi Al Johar in 2002 and 2004.
- Won several awards in the field of song, the most important being:
- First prize in (song lyrics) at the GCC Song Festival, 2001, in Abu Dhabi.
