The Ministry of Education follows up on the preparations for the STEM OMAN project in the educational schools of South Al Sharqiyah

The STEM Oman project, which is implemented in partnership with Oman LNG, aims to transform the process of learning science into an enjoyable and interactive experience for students, by providing an educational environment equipped with the latest tools and technology. The STEM Oman project is a global educational system that also aims to combine the four basic educational subjects of mathematics, engineering, science and technology, and to link and blend them in an integrated manner in creative ways based on scientific experiments to transform ideas into practical applications that focus on linking education to daily life, which will develop students’ creative and critical thinking skills and create a generation capable of effectively participating in sustainable development in society and entering the world of a knowledge-based economy in the fields of science, mathematics, engineering and technology.

The project is being implemented in 15 schools in the second cycle in South Al Sharqiyah Governorate over three years (2023-2025). The targeted schools are being equipped with halls with many modern devices and technologies that support this project. This project helps develop critical thinking and creativity skills among students, enables them to keep pace with rapid technological developments, and provides them with the knowledge and skills necessary to build a promising future.

The STEM OMAN program won the Arab Excellence Award as the best government program implemented to support the education sector at the Arab world level, at the awards ceremony held in Cairo in January of last year.
