Nakhoda Hamad bin Salem bin Mubarak bin Hamad Al Razeeqi
Nakhoda Hamad bin Salem bin Mubarak bin Hamad Al Razeeqi: Born in the Omani city of Sur in 1915 and died in 1994. One of the well-known nakhodas. He travelled between Oman, Africa, Yemen, the Arab Gulf states and India, and reached Mozambique, where he traded in transporting sugar.
His first voyage was at the age of 14, aboard the ship (Al Khadra), during his father's lifetime. He owned a number of ships, some jointly with his brothers, among them:
1 = Al Baz: of the sambuk type, built by the sons of Al Shaqqaq.
2 = Al Fawz: of the sambuk type, with a capacity of about 150 tons.
3 = Al Mumtaz: of the sambuk type, with a capacity of about 80 tons.
4 = Abd Al Wahid: of the boom type, with a capacity of about 350 tons. Its original name was (Al Marzouq); it was nicknamed Abd Al Wahid because of a saying about it owing to its great size [Abd Al Wahid — its length and breadth are one], and it was built by the master builder (wustad mol) Yaqut bin Salim Al Ghailani.
5 = Al Mansour: of the boom type, with a capacity of about 150 tons.
6 = Al Matar: of the sambuk type, built in Malabar, India.
