Sea captains
Nakhoda Salem bin Hamad Al Dhahab
Born in the Omani city of Sur in 1369 AH and, at the time this book was written, still living in his city of Sur, Oman. He travelled between Oman, Africa, Yemen, India and the Arab Gulf states, as far as Iraq. He owned a ship:
1 = "Al Mashhour", of the boom type
He also served as nakhoda with a number of shipowners.
1 = on the ship "Amanat Allah", of the ghanja type, owned by both Abdullah bin Khalfan and Ali bin Hamad.
2 = and he served as nakhoda on the royal yachts, both "Fulk Al Salama" and "Al Said".
