Nakhoda Sheikh Hamad bin Mohammed bin Mubarak bin Juwaid Al Ghailani
- 1912 – 2014
Nakhoda Sheikh Hamad bin Mohammed bin Mubarak bin Juwaid Al Ghailani:
Born in the Omani city of Sur in 1912 and died in 2014. He inherited much from his father, but that did not stop him from relying on himself and his self-made spirit. Although he had no connection with sailing or commanding ships, like the other sons of his town Sur Al Afia he worked in the maritime trade and owned a number of ships.
He travelled in the many ships he owned as a ship-owning nakhoda to Africa, India, Yemen and the Arab Gulf states, entrusting their command to a number of nakhodas renowned for their skill and ability.
Among the ships he owned:
1 = Atiyat Al Rahman, of the sambuk type
2 = another ship of the sambuk type, commanded by his brother Nakhoda Juma bin Mohammed bin Mubarak bin Juwaid Al Ghailani.
3 = a third ship of the sambuk type named "Fath Al Rahman"
