Nakhoda Sultan bin Ali bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Alawi

Born in Sur, a veteran sea captain regarded as one of the most famous masters of sailing ships in Sur. He made voyages across the Indian Ocean, the Arabian Sea and the Arab Gulf, and was familiar with the East African coast and its ports. Among his renowned ships were Fath Al Khair, Banana and Maaqoula.
