Sea captains
Nakhoda Sultan bin Mohammed bin Hamad Wuld Sama Al Ghailani
Born in the Omani city of Sur in 1873 and died in 1961. He practised navigation from the very start of his life, in the earliest stage of his youth, and was among the nakhodas renowned for their boldness in facing and crossing the waves of the seas. He travelled to Iraq, Iran, India, Pakistan, Yemen and East Africa aboard the ships he owned, such as:
1 = Al Jalboot, which he purchased; its original owner is unknown.
2 = Al Husni (a sambuk).
3 = Al Nasr (a sambuk).
